How many marks is an error of course under HRCAV rules?

Under HRCAV rules the first error of course costs 2 marks, the second a further 4, the third a further 8, and the fourth error means elimination. Marks come off the sheet total before the percentage is worked out.

That is the rule in the HRCAV Dressage Rules, Rule 23.3 (Updated 1 Jan 2026), and the calculator applies it automatically. Rules get revised, so where your rule book or sheet differs, the sheet is right.
